Krish Ashok is the author of Masala Lab: The Science of Indian Cooking. It's one of my favourite books of the year, and I love the guy in general. He's one of the few people worth following on Twitter, and has an amazing ability to explain complex scientific concepts in a lucid, Neil-DeGrasse-Tyson-ish way that I enjoy.
