But I am thrilled to be writing this particular one about my "clothes encounters"—because when you’re plus-size, finding clothes that actually fit feels like an arranged marriage: exhausting, full of rejection and mostly decided by people who don’t understand you. This is my first-ever standup video, and it’s all about the struggle of fitting into clothes and society—a SIZEable offence by brands that pretend plus-size women don’t exist. The number of times they tried to make me believe that I would fit into their size-inclusive XXXL kurtas (the way they sew, so they rip!). They cover us in boring colours and bulbous prints. We are only trying to look good, not broadcast our live location from the tents you're trying to pass off as clothes. From trial-room heartbreaks to the scam of “free size,” I’m spilling it all.
