He began his stand-up journey in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. His first performance was far from ordinary—it took place in a locker room for none other than then-world number one tennis star Pete Sampras. From that unconventional beginning, Rajiv has gone on to achieve significant milestones. He performed as an opening act for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi before an audience of 17,000, and his viral video “I AM INDIAN” garnered over 100 million views. The video was widely shared by Bollywood celebrities and even used to introduce Modi at events in Shanghai and Dubai. He also became the first comedian to deliver a full-length stand-up performance in India. Rajiv has opened for Russell Peters more times than any other Indian comic and has performed alongside legendary comedians such as Tim Allen, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jo Koy, Kevin Nealon, and Dave Chappelle—including Chappelle’s first show after his return from Africa. A career highlight for Rajiv was closing a set at New York’s Gotham Comedy Club immediately after his comedy idol, Jerry Seinfeld. About Smriti Mundhra: Smriti Mundhra, born on July 3, 1980, is a Los Angeles-based American filmmaker. She leads Meralta Films, a production company dedicated to documentary and non-fiction storytelling. Mundhra received the Albert Maysles New Documentary Director Award at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival for her debut feature documentary *A Suitable Girl*, co-directed with Sarita Khurana. She is also the Creator and Executive Producer of Netflix’s original reality series *Indian Matchmaking*.
