Alexander Babu is a Chennai-based stand-up comedian, musician and singer credited with pioneering musical comedy in the Tamil scene. He grew up in Andavoorani, a village in Ramanathapuram district, trained as an engineer at CEG Guindy and worked as a software engineer at Amazon in Seattle before returning to India in 2014 to perform full time. His shows weave Carnatic music, guitar-led songs and storytelling with observational humour drawn from Tamil cinema and middle-class life. His Amazon Prime special Alex in Wonderland and his touring show Alexperience have played to audiences across India, the US and the UK.
