Sumaira Shaikh is a Mumbai-based stand-up comedian and writer who grew up in Dongri and has been performing since around 2016. Trained as a psychologist, she brings a sharp, observational voice to material about class, family and life in Mumbai's older neighbourhoods. She wrote for All India Bakchod, the Abish Mathew talk show Son of Abish and co-wrote the Amazon Prime Video series Pushpavalli. Her solo hour Dongri Danger released on Amazon Prime Video in 2022, cementing her as one of the most distinctive new headliners in Indian English comedy. She continues to tour, write for the screen and post sets to YouTube.
