Vir Das is a Mumbai-based stand-up comedian, actor and musician widely regarded as one of the figures who built modern English-language stand-up in India. He became the first Indian comic to record a Netflix special with Abroad Understanding in 2017, and has since released several more including Losing It, For India, Outside In and Landing. Landing won him the 2023 International Emmy for Best Comedy, and he later hosted the International Emmy Awards in New York. His work blends storytelling, political commentary and observations on identity, and he tours extensively across India, the UK and the US.
