About this Video

Last Updated: April 23, 2025 *About the Anthem* This powerful anthem sheds light on the daily struggles of India's gig workers—delivery personnel, drivers, and other platform-based workers—who often face exploitation under the guise of "freedom." It challenges the narrative of independence promoted by contractors, highlighting the lack of basic rights, social security, and fair compensation. The song serves as a rallying cry for dignity, justice, and systemic change in the gig economy. *Progress in Gig Workers' Welfare* In recent years, several Indian states have initiated measures to improve the conditions of gig workers: • Rajasthan: In July 2023, Rajasthan became the first state to pass the Rajasthan Platform-Based Gig Workers (Registration and Welfare) Act. This legislation mandates the registration of gig workers and aggregators, establishes a welfare board with representation from workers and aggregators, and creates a social security fund. The act also introduces a welfare fee levied on aggregators to finance social security schemes for gig workers. • Tamil Nadu: In March 2025, Tamil Nadu announced a subsidy of ₹20,000 for 2,000 registered gig workers to purchase new e-scooters, aiming to support their livelihoods. Additionally, the state introduced an insurance scheme covering accidental death and disability for approximately 1.5 lakh gig workers. Plans are also underway to establish lounges in major cities for gig workers' use. • Karnataka: Despite financial constraints, Karnataka issued an order in September 2023 providing social security benefits to gig workers, including ₹2 lakh life cover and ₹2 lakh accidental insurance. This initiative aims to protect an estimated 2.3 lakh gig workers in the state. *Join the Movement* This song is more than just music; it's a movement advocating for the rights and recognition of gig workers across India. By sharing and supporting this anthem, you contribute to amplifying their voices and pushing for meaningful reforms in the gig economy. #WeAreNotSlaves #GigWorkersRights #IndiaGigEconomy #SocialJustice #LaborRights #Rajasthan #TamilNadu #Karnataka #Ola #FarakPadtaHai #ChaloNiklo #HeroesOfOla #Dunzo #DontRushChallenge #Rapido #RapidoRides #SafeCommutes #GoRapido #EkdumAaramSe #RapidoBikeTaxi #Blinkit
