I got a call from HR at Google. I usually don’t pick calls while peeing. But for some reason, this time I did. HR: Is this Harshit Mahawar? Me: Yes. Kaun bol raha hai? HR: Hi Harshit. This is Shreya from Google HR. Is this a good time to talk? Me (slightly shaken): Hi Shreya. Glad you read my email. HR: Thanks for applying. You’re a strong candidate. Me: Does that mean I’m hired at Google? The moment I said “Google”, the guy standing next to me stopped peeing and looked at me. HR: No. Your profile has been rejected by the team. Me: What? Then why are you calling me? You could just have replied to my email. HR: It’s company policy.
